Description

3mm Cork Underlayment – 300 sq. ft. Carton

Forna’s 3mm cork underlayment is our thinnest option, offering reliable comfort, sound control, and thermal protection beneath your flooring. Designed for use under laminate, cork, bamboo, hardwood, or engineered wood, it creates a warmer, quieter, and more comfortable living space.

Each carton contains 50 pre-cut sheets measuring 24” x 36” (2 ft x 3 ft), covering 300 sq. ft. in total. Weighing about 46 lbs per box, the underlay is made from 100% agglomerated cork and bonded with water-based adhesives—completely free of formaldehyde and toxins.

Key Benefits

Noise Reduction: Cork’s cellular structure absorbs airborne and impact sound, outperforming most foam underlays.
Thermal Insulation: Helps maintain consistent room temperatures while improving the efficiency of radiant heating systems.
Moisture Resistance: Naturally resistant to mold and mildew thanks to cork’s suberin content.
Comfortable Cushioning: Provides a softer, more supportive surface underfoot.
Eco-Friendly: Harvested sustainably from cork oak bark without harming the tree, making it a renewable and recyclable choice.

Product buying questions

What is 3mm cork underlayment best for?

3mm cork underlayment is an acoustic and thermal underlay for flooring projects where low-profile acoustic layer needs, finished height limits, laminate, vinyl, engineered hardwood, tile, and light sound-control projects matter under hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, or cork floors.

Should I choose 3mm cork underlayment for sound control?

Cork underlayment can help with impact sound and thermal comfort, but the right thickness depends on assembly, finished floor height, subfloor, building requirements, and the flooring manufacturer instructions.

Can 3mm cork underlayment go under hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile, or cork?

Often yes, when the flooring manufacturer allows an underlay layer and the substrate, adhesive or floating-floor system, moisture limits, and finished height are confirmed before installation.
