Forna Commercial Use Warranty Coverage
Forna Cork Flooring installed in approved commercial environments is protected by the following warranties:

5-Year Commercial Wear Warranty
-
Lifetime Structural Warranty
-
Lifetime Joint Integrity Warranty
1. Commercial Wear-Through Warranty (5 Years)
The 5-Year Commercial Wear Warranty applies only when the flooring receives two additional coats of LOBA 2K Supra AT (or LOBA AT) applied on-site by a qualified professional.
Coverage includes:
-
Visible surface wear that penetrates through the finish layer
-
Wear must be noticeable and cover at least 10% of the installed area
The following are not considered wear-through:
-
Gloss reduction
-
Minor surface scratches
-
Normal texture changes from foot traffic
2. Lifetime Structural Warranty
Forna Cork flooring is carefully inspected during manufacturing and is warranted to be free of structural defects for the lifetime of the product under normal use.
3. Lifetime Joint Integrity Warranty
The locking system is guaranteed to remain secure under normal commercial use.
Minor seasonal gaps up to 0.2 mm (0.01″) may occur and are not considered defects, as cork is a natural material subject to environmental humidity changes.
Warranty Conditions & Requirements
This warranty is valid only when all conditions below are fully met:
1. Original Owner & Installation Location
-
Warranty begins on purchase date.
-
Applies only to the original purchaser named on the invoice.
-
Non-transferable.
-
Valid only for the original installation site.
2. Approved Use Areas
-
Indoor commercial settings with normal foot traffic.
-
Not valid for wet, humid, or damp environments (bathrooms, saunas, commercial kitchens, pool areas).
3. Subfloor & Moisture Requirements
Proper subfloor preparation is mandatory.
Concrete Subfloors
-
Calcium chloride test required.
-
Readings above 2.27 kg / 93 m² / 24 hours are unacceptable.
-
Moisture meter readings must be ≤ 4.5%.
Wood Subfloors
-
Moisture content must be ≤ 14% throughout.
-
Do not use polyethylene film vapor barriers over wood.
Glue-Down Installations
Only adhesives meeting or exceeding the following may be used:
PVAC dispersion, viscosity 8000 ± 1000 cpc (spindle 6/20, 20°C), density 1.11 ± 0.02 g/cm³, dry content 48 ± 1%.
After glue installation, flooring must rest 12 hours before use.
4. Indoor Climate Requirements

Flooring must be installed and used only in climate-controlled indoor spaces.
-
Relative humidity must remain within 30–60% year-round.
-
Humidifiers or dehumidifiers may be required depending on climate.
5. Water Damage Excluded
This warranty does not cover:
-
Surface water
-
Subfloor moisture
-
Flooding
-
Hydrostatic pressure
-
Plumbing leaks
-
Moisture from improper cleaning
6. Proper Installation
Installers must follow Forna installation instructions exactly.
Improper installation voids all warranties.
7. Proper Cleaning & Maintenance
-
Wet mopping is strictly prohibited.
-
Only approved cork-safe cleaners may be used.
-
Surface finish must be recoated as needed to protect the floor.
Failure to maintain the finish voids the warranty.
8. Inspection Responsibility
-
Customer must inspect all materials before installation.
-
Installation constitutes acceptance of color, pattern, thickness, and visual characteristics.
-
Forna is not responsible for installation costs related to visible defects that should have been noticed prior to installation.
9. Natural Variations
Cork is a natural product. Variations in shade, color, pattern, or texture are normal and not considered defects.
This includes:

Differences between batches
-
UV or sunlight exposure changes
-
Aging
-
Replacements installed years after the original floor
Warranty Exclusions (Non-Covered Conditions)
This warranty does NOT cover:
-
Moisture problems, mildew, alkaline substances, hydrostatic pressure.
-
Excessive heat, excessive cold, or very dry environments.
-
Subfloor irregularities or improper preparation.
-
Scratches, gouges, dents, scuffs, cuts, stains, burns.
-
Damage from moving heavy furniture or appliances.
-
Loss of gloss or normal wear in high-traffic areas.
-
Color variations from natural aging or sunlight.
-
Mismatched color with furnishings, cabinets, trim.
-
Use of incorrect tools, adhesives, or materials.
-
Failure to follow installation instructions.
-
Damage from roller skates, high heels, sports shoes, animal claws.
-
Installation in improper or non-recommended locations.
-
Insect infestation post-shipment.
-
Damage from dropping or falling objects.
-
Any non-factory applied finishes.
-
Normal commercial traffic wear patterns.
How to File a Warranty Claim
If a defect is suspected:
-
Notify your retailer in writing within 15 days of discovering the issue.
-
Provide:
-
Proof of purchase
-
Product name
-
Quantity
-
Photos of the issue
-
-
Retailer will contact Forna and arrange inspection if necessary.
-
If approved, Forna will:
-
Provide replacement material of same design and color, or
-
If discontinued, supply an equivalent product of equal value
-
Labor, removal, installation, or related costs are not covered.
Warranty replacement is limited to one replacement over the product’s life.
Any repair, refinishing, or replacement made before inspection automatically voids this warranty.
