Declaration of Warranty
Forna provides this warranty in addition to all legal rights. When used correctly in residential or commercial spaces, Forna guarantees the integrity of the product structure, including the bonding of layers and the factory-applied surface coating.
This warranty does not cover damages caused by improper treatment or misuse, including but not limited to:

Excessive or improper loading

Abnormal wear and tear
-
Mechanical damage such as dents, gouges, scratches
-
Visual changes such as joint gaps or color variation
-
Color and pattern variations inherent in natural materials
-
Damage from improper cleaning, maintenance, or chemical exposure
-
Damage from moisture, standing water, or unsuitable subfloor conditions
This warranty applies only to first-quality Forna TechSlate products installed indoors in normal residential or commercial environments. Forna’s standard Terms & Conditions of Sale apply.
Warranty Duration
The warranty period for Forna TechSlate is:

15 years for Residential Class 23 installations
-
5 years for Commercial Class 33 installations
Warranty begins on the date of purchase.
Depreciation Schedule (New-for-Old Allowance)
Approved claims are subject to depreciation from the original purchase price:

Residential: 8% reduction per year
-
Commercial: 20% reduction per year
Warranty Conditions
1. Proper Installation
-
Flooring must be installed according to all official Forna TechSlate installation instructions.
-
Requirements related to subfloor moisture testing and compatibility with underfloor heating must be followed.
2. Pre-Installation Inspection
-
Flooring must be examined in daylight for visible defects before installation.
-
Installed material is considered accepted.
3. Proper Cleaning & Maintenance
-
Care and cleaning must follow Forna’s Care & Maintenance Guide.

The surface coating is a protective layer; wear of this coating alone is not considered a defect.

When visible wear appears, refinishing must be completed promptly by a qualified professional.
4. Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:

Improper installation
-
Incorrect maintenance, cleaning, or refinishing
-
Non-professional repairs
-
Moisture or flood damage of any kind
-
Damage from heavy rolling loads or lack of protective felt pads
-
Damage caused by environmental conditions outside specifications
Submitting a Warranty Claim
All warranty claims must be submitted in writing to Forna and include:

The original proof of purchase (required for claim validation)

A written description of the issue
-
Photographs of the affected area
Without the original invoice, the claim is void.
Inspection Requirements
Forna, or an appointed third party, has the right to:

Access the installed area
-
Perform inspections, tests, and moisture measurements
The claimant must provide any required samples or documents within two weeks of request. Failure to do so voids the claim.
Forna will provide written acceptance or rejection of the claim within four weeks of receiving complete documentation. If no written confirmation is issued, the claim is considered rejected.
Extent of Warranty
If a claim is approved:

Forna may repair the affected plank(s) or replace them with new TechSlate material from the current product line.

Replacement material must be picked up by the customer from the original point of sale at no cost.
Not Covered
The warranty does not include:

Removal or disposal of existing flooring
-
New installation or labor expenses
-
Furniture moving or site preparation
-
Compensation for secondary or incidental damages
Replacement does not extend or reset the warranty period.
All warranty-related claims expire six months after the date of Forna’s written decision and never beyond the original warranty term.
