Cleaning & Care Guide – Forna Hot Coating Surface Flooring

1. Everyday & Weekly Cleaning

Regular Upkeep

  • Use a vacuum with a gentle brush head or a dust mop to lift dirt, sand, and debris.

  • Wipe the surface with a damp (not wet) mop that has been thoroughly wrung out.

⚠️ Note: Cork is sensitive to excess moisture. Never allow water to pool or remain on the floor.

Monthly Refresh (Limit to Twice Monthly)

  • Swap plain water with a mild, pH-balanced cleaner formulated for hardwood floors.

  • Apply the solution using a microfiber mop.

  • Do not spray or mist the product directly onto the flooring.

Cleaner Selection Checklist
Look for cleaners that:

  1. Clearly state “neutral pH.”

  2. Are safe for hardwood (laminate is fine; skip “multi-purpose” blends).

  3. Leave no sticky film or residue.

  4. Do not promise to “shine,” “rejuvenate,” or “restore.”

Extra Protection Tips

  • Place entry mats to trap grit before it reaches the floor.

  • Attach felt pads to the base of furniture legs.

  • For office chairs, only use soft wheels (EN 12529 standard) or put protective mats under them.

2. Preserving the Finish

  • The factory Hot Coating surface is tough and usually doesn’t need extra sealants.

  • If wear becomes significant, a maintenance coat can be applied:

    • Recommended product: LOBA 2K Supra AT.

    • Drying time: minimum 5 hours before use.

    • Full cure: 3 days.

    • Do not exceed three coats in total.

3. Indoor Environment

  • Maintain a steady room temperature around 20 °C.

  • Keep indoor relative humidity between 55–65%.

  • Use a humidifier in very dry climates, and avoid extreme changes to prevent gaps or swelling.

✅ Quick Reference:

  • Daily care: Vacuum or damp mop only.

  • Monthly clean: Neutral pH hardwood cleaner (no more than twice a month).

  • Occasional maintenance: Apply LOBA 2K Supra AT if the finish shows heavy wear.
