Leather Cork Glue-Down Flooring

The traditional block pattern of natural cork in a thick, luxurious 6 mm (1/4 in) glue-down tile: instantly recognizable, quiet underfoot, and 100 percent cork from top to bottom.

Leather is the classic cork look. Its traditional block pattern is known to cork enthusiasts around the world, and it reads as cork the moment you see it. If you want a floor that celebrates the material instead of hiding it, this is the pattern to start with.

Each 610 mm x 305 mm (24 in x 12 in) tile is solid natural cork through every layer: a 6 mm cork top over a cork core and cork backing, produced in Portugal. Genuine 100 percent cork glue-down tiles at this thickness are hard to find in Canada, where the market is dominated by thin 4 mm tiles. At 6 mm, Leather sits at the thick end of what most stores offer, yet it is the thinnest tile in this line-up.

Underfoot, the tile is warm, resilient, and low slip, a comfortable surface for seniors, children, or anyone dealing with arthritis or joint pain. That same resilience keeps impact noise from travelling down through the floor or up through the ceiling, and the natural insulation helps keep heat in the room in winter and out in summer.

Glued directly to the subfloor with Wakol D3540 cork adhesive and sealed with two coats of Loba 2K polyurethane, Leather is rated for residential and light commercial spaces, and it can be installed on walls as well as floors.

Important product note

Much of the market still sells thin 4 mm cork glue-down tiles, often through big box stores with little training in cork installation. This line-up has moved away from 4 mm entirely: the 6 mm Leather tile is treated as the thinnest tile offered, not the thickest, and for those who want even more material underfoot there are 11 different tile designs available in 8 mm thickness.
