Night Cork Flooring
A deep black Swiss-made cork floor: 11mm thick, click-together planks that stay warm underfoot and cut impact noise by 18 dB. Night is cork at its most dramatic. The dark, near-black colour reads as elegant rather than heavy, and it slips into almost any room decor: modern condos, moody bedrooms, offices, and open-plan living spaces alike. Because it is made from the bark of the cork oak (a tree that lives up to 200 years and can be harvested around 20 times), you get a renewable, natural floor without giving up a contemporary look. Each 913mm x 305mm (35-15/16 in x 12 in) plank is a true three-layer build: a 3mm natural cork wear surface over a 6.8mm E1 grade moisture-resistant HDF core, finished with a 1.2mm agglomerated cork backing. The surface carries a HotCoating wear layer sealed with a high-resistance Natural Shield water-based polyurethane finish, which is how this floor reaches an AC5 abrasion rating and a class 33 heavy commercial durability class while staying safe around kids thanks to cork's natural antimicrobial properties. Underfoot, Night feels like cork should: permanently elastic, quiet, and comfortable. Cork's air-filled cell structure gives it built-in thermal insulation (thermal resistance 0.108 m² K/W), so walking barefoot in winter does not mean cold feet, and the same structure absorbs impact sound instead of transmitting it to the room below. Installation is a floating Uniclic click-lock system with a square edge and no bevel: no glue, no nails, and a locking strength on the HDF joint of over 500 kg per linear metre. It is rated for above grade, on grade, and below grade installs, so basements are fair game. Why this floor
