Strips Cork Flooring

Wide, long cork plank with square edges.

Strips is a natural cork floating floor with 915 mm x 305 mm (36 in x 12 in) planks and square edges without bevels.

Each 11mm (7/16 in) plank is built in three layers: a 3mm genuine cork wear surface on top, a 7mm E1 Class high density fiberboard core for stability, and a 1mm cork underlay already attached underneath. The result is a floor that arrives prefinished, insulated, and ready to walk on the day you install it.

Cork provides cushioning and thermal insulation. Compare the acoustic test report for the complete floor assembly, and follow the product’s installation and care requirements.

Installation is a floating click-lock job with the licensed Uniclic system: no glue, no nails, and no separate underlay to buy. Rated for commercial as well as residential use, it can go above grade, on grade, or below grade, so a finished basement is fair game.

Common questions

Can I install this over in-floor radiant heat?

Yes. Strips is compatible with approved radiant underfloor heating, including hydronic systems, and cork's thermal insulation helps you hold onto that heat instead of losing it downward.

Is it suitable for a basement?

Yes. It is rated for below grade, on grade, and above grade installation, so finished basements are covered. Cork is also naturally resistant to mould and mildew thanks to its anti-microbial properties.

How does it hold up to pets and heavy traffic?

Well. The floor carries a Commercial class 31 and Residential class 23 durability rating, the surface is resilient, low slip, and impact resistant, and the Natural Shield water-based polyurethane finish is stain resistant and easy to clean.

What do I need to install it?

Very little. The planks float over the subfloor and click together with the licensed Uniclic profile: no glue, no nails, and no separate underlayment, since a 1mm cork underlay is already attached to every plank. Order about 10% extra for cuts and waste.
