Vertical Cork Flooring
Swiss-made 11 mm cork planks that click together without glue, cut impact noise by 18 dB, and carry a Class 33 commercial rating. Vertical is a floating cork floor built in Switzerland to a simple recipe: real cork where you feel it, engineered stability where you need it. Each 913 mm x 305 mm (35-15/16 in x 12 in) plank stacks a full 3 mm layer of natural cork over a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture-resistant HDF core, with a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing bonded underneath. The underlay is already part of the plank, so the floor arrives ready to quiet the room from day one. Cork's closed, air-filled cell structure is what makes this floor different underfoot. It stays close to room temperature year round, so walking barefoot in winter does not mean cold feet, and it gives slightly with every step while remaining permanently elastic. The surface is sealed with a HotCoating wear layer and a high resistant Natural Shield water-based polyurethane finish, which is how a soft natural material earns an AC5 abrasion rating. That coating is also why Vertical is rated for usage class 33, a heavy-duty commercial setting, as well as class 23 for busy homes. It installs floating over above grade, on grade, or below grade subfloors with a Uniclic click-lock joint, and it is compatible with electric, hydronic, and underfloor radiant heating. Bark is harvested without felling the tree (cork oaks can live up to 200 years and be peeled around 20 times), so the floor is as easy on the environment as it is on your knees. Why this floor
