Clara Chevron Cork Flooring

A Swiss-designed chevron cork floor: 11 mm thick, watertight Uniclic joints, and rated for commercial class 33 traffic. Clara Chevron brings the classic chevron pattern to a natural cork floating floor. Each 1235 mm x 305 mm (48 5/8 in x 12 in) plank carries a genuine 3 mm cork top layer, so the pattern you see sits on real cork, not a printed vinyl skin. Underfoot, the difference is immediate. Cork's honeycomb cell structure (roughly 40 million cells per cubic centimetre) makes the floor permanently elastic, gentle on ankles, and warm all year: a thermal resistance of 0.108 m² K/W means barefoot winter mornings without cold feet. The build is engineered for real life. A HotCoating wear layer with a water-based Natural Shield polyurethane finish protects the surface to AC5 abrasion resistance, a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture-resistant HDF core keeps planks stable, and a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing adds a built-in acoustic underlay rated at 18 dB impact sound reduction. Cork is also one of the most sustainable materials you can put on a floor. It is harvested from the bark of the cork oak, which regrows after peeling: no tree is felled, and a single oak can be harvested up to 20 times over a lifespan of up to 200 years.

Installation & care

Can I install this over in-floor radiant heat?

Yes. Clara Chevron is compatible with both hydronic and underfloor radiant heating systems, and its 0.108 m² K/W thermal resistance lets heat pass through while the cork keeps the surface comfortable.

Is it suitable for a basement?

Yes. This floor is approved for below grade, on grade, and above grade installation. The moisture-resistant HDF core and watertight Uniclic joints (24 hour swelling value under 8%) are built for that environment.

Will it hold up to pets and heavy foot traffic?

Yes. The HotCoating surface reaches AC5 abrasion resistance and a class 33 commercial rating, the highest domestic class being 23, so it is specified for traffic well beyond a busy household. It is also rated suitable for type W castor chairs.

How is it installed?
