Forest Cork Flooring

A genuine wood surface on a cork floating plank, built in Switzerland to commercial class 33 durability with watertight click joints.

Forest puts real wood underfoot, not a photographic imitation. Each 1235 mm x 200 mm (48 5/8 in x 7 7/8 in) plank carries a 1 mm real wood surface bonded to a 6.8 mm moisture-resistant E1 grade HDF core, finished with a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing. The whole board is 9.7 mm (3/8 in) thick and made entirely of natural materials.

What sets this floor apart from traditional hardwood is the protection layer. The HotCoating wear surface, sealed with a high resistant Natural Shield water based polyurethane, gives the wood a durability rating that conventional wooden floors have not reached: commercial class 33 (AC5) and domestic class 23. There is no varnishing, oiling, or sanding in this floor's future. You sweep it, you damp mop it, and you move on.

Because the joints are watertight and the core resists moisture, Forest is approved above grade, on grade, and below grade, so it works in a basement family room as readily as a main floor kitchen or a busy commercial space. The patented Uniclic click profile locks planks together as a floating floor with no glue and no open joints, and the built-in cork backing quiets each step with 15 dB of sound reduction.
