Matera Blend - Techslate Stone-Look Flooring

The look of natural slate with a waterproof, fireproof mineral core: a floor rated for airports that feels at home in your kitchen. Matera Blend brings the blended, tonal character of quarried slate to a large-format 920 mm x 460 mm (36 7/32 in x 18 7/64 in) plank. The pattern is applied by direct, lightfast digital printing and sealed under a KORUS wear coating, so the surface keeps its depth of colour even in sun-flooded rooms: lightfastness tests above 7 on the 8-point ISO scale. Underneath, this is a very different animal from ceramic or wood-based flooring. A mineral carrier plate made primarily from cement fibreboard gives the plank its 100% water resistance and A2fl-s1 fire rating, while a highly viscoelastic intermediate layer and a factory-bonded GREEN Sound underlay soften every step. The result is stone that is quiet underfoot: approximately 19 dB of impact sound improvement and a 35% reduction in in-room noise. Because the mineral core barely moves with temperature or humidity (dimensional stability under 0.03%), you can run up to 1,000 square metres without an expansion or separation joint. That means seamless open-plan spaces, and it makes Matera Blend approved for below-grade, on-grade, and above-grade installs alike: basements, entries, and source-listed commercial settings such as cafes, salons, hotels, and retail shops. Swiss-made, designed for easy dismantling, and 100% recyclable through a second-life process, it is a floor you can specify with a clear conscience and walk on for decades.

Why this floor

• 100% waterproof mineral core: 0% thickness swelling after 24 hours in water (EN 317), so spills, wet boots, and humid basements are non-events.
• Fireproof to A2fl-s1 (EN ISO 9239-1): a rating ceramic-alternative floors rarely reach, suitable even for saunas and commercial kitchens' adjacent spaces.
• Heavy commercial durability: usage Class 33 commercial and Class 23 residential, with AC5 abrasion resistance (over 10,000 revolutions, WR4) under the KORUS surface.
• Quiet for a hard floor: approximately 19 dB impact sound improvement (EN ISO 717-2) plus 35% in-room sound improvement from the built-in GREEN Sound underlay, so no separate underlayment to buy.
• Up to 1,000 square metres without expansion joints thanks to dimensional stability below 0.03% (EN 434), and zero residual indentation (0.00 mm, EN 433) under heavy furniture.
• Strong, glue-free Uniclic Click Lock joint: transverse tensile strength above 500 kg per linear metre (ISO 24334), rated for office chair casters.
• Healthy-home numbers: emissions below 100 ppm per AgBB, antistatic below 2.0 kV, and grade 5/5 stain resistance with R10 slip resistance.
