Silver Birch Cork Glue-Down Flooring
Cork ribbon pattern in an 8 mm (5/16 in) glue-down tile for floors, walls and ceilings.
Silver Birch has a natural cork ribbon grain. Its flowing natural cork ribbon grain gives every 610 mm x 305 mm (24 in x 12 in) tile its own character, so the finished floor reads as one continuous, organic surface rather than a repeating print.
Solid natural cork through the full 8 mm thickness: cork top layer, core and backing, produced in Portugal. This is twice the thickness of a 4 mm tile. The high-resistance, super-matte wax finish protects the surface from scuffs and stains.
Cork provides cushioning and thermal insulation. Compare the acoustic test report for the complete floor assembly, and follow the product’s installation and care requirements.
Because it glues down, Silver Birch behaves as permanent flooring: rated class 23 for any room in the home and class 32 for light commercial spaces. The same tile installs on walls and ceilings when you want the pattern to carry beyond the floor.
Why this floor
- 8 mm (5/16 in) solid natural cork construction: twice the thickness of common 4 mm glue-down cork tiles.
- 24 dB impact sound reduction: keeps noise from travelling down through the floor or up through the ceiling.
- Rated Commercial class 32 and Domestic class 23, backed by a 10-year residential wear warranty, joint integrity warranty and lifetime structural warranty.
- Water-resistant and stain-resistant, with a high resistance super-matte wax finish that resists scuffs and is easy to clean.
- Compatible with hydronic and underfloor radiant heating systems.
- Made with formaldehyde-free adhesives. Review the product’s emissions documentation.
- Ecologically friendly: cork is a completely natural, recurring and replenishable material.
Important product note
Apply two layers of polyurethane after glue-down installation. This tile is 8 mm thick; compare thickness and price per square foot when reviewing alternatives such as 4 mm tiles.

The cork looks great. Remove all ‘buttons’ from bottoms of furniture and replace with Felt Pads & Surface Protectors, protect floor from larger pieces like a bed, piano, with cutout pads of leftover cork tiles or all these will leave marks in the flooring as it is soft.

We used Forna 8mm Silver Birch cork tiles in my Boathouse. It looks great. I have sent some photos to Cancork.
