Modular Cork Flooring

Swiss-made cork in warm browns and beiges, with an 18 dB impact sound rating and a click-lock plank rated for heavy commercial use.

Modular carries the look of natural wood in varying shades of brown and beige, an earthy, organic palette that echoes the texture of stone walls and cement. The effect is rustic but clean: square-edged 913mm x 305mm (35-15/16 inch x 12 inch) planks with no bevel, so the pattern reads as one continuous surface across the room.

Underneath the finish is a serious build. A 3mm layer of natural cork sits over a 6.8mm E1 grade moisture-resistant HDF core, with a 1.2mm agglomerated cork backing below. The surface is sealed with a HotCoating wear layer and a high-resistance Natural Shield water-based polyurethane, which is how a soft, natural material earns an AC5 abrasion rating and a class 33 heavy commercial classification.

Cork's air-filled cell structure does the everyday work: the floor stays close to room temperature year round, so walking barefoot in winter does not mean cold feet, and each step lands on a surface that compresses and springs back. That give matters in homes with pets and children, and in hotels, yoga studios, daycare centres, offices and gyms where people stand and move all day.

Installation is a floating Uniclic click-lock system, and the plank is approved for every grade level: above grade, on grade and below grade. It also pairs with electric and hydronic radiant heating, so it works over a heated slab as readily as in a basement.

Why this floor

• Made in Switzerland from natural cork, with Green Guard Gold certification and formaldehyde emissions testing (E1 grade core).

• Uniclic click-lock joint with tested locking strength above 500 kg/lfm; floats without glue over above, on and below grade subfloors.
• R10 slip rating and low thermal resistance (0.108 m² K/W), so it is safe underfoot and compatible with electric and hydronic radiant heat.
• 24-hour swelling value under 8% and very good chemical resistance (EN 423), backed by a 15-year residential and 5-year commercial warranty.
