Aurora Chevron Cork Flooring

A Swiss-designed chevron floor with an 11 mm cork build, watertight Uniclic joints, and an 18 dB quieter walk. Aurora Chevron brings the tailored look of a chevron pattern to a floating cork plank. Each 1235 mm x 305 mm (48 5/8 in x 12 in) plank is designed in Switzerland and made from cork harvested from the bark of the cork oak: no tree is felled, and the same oak can be peeled up to 20 times over a lifespan of up to 200 years. Under the pattern sits a serious sandwich: a 3 mm cork top layer over a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture resistant HDF core, finished with a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing. The HotCoating wear surface and Natural Shield water base polyurethane finish carry an AC5 abrasion rating, which is why this floor earns commercial class 33 as well as domestic class 23. Cork's honeycomb cell structure (roughly 40 million cells per cubic centimetre) is what you feel underfoot: the floor stays comfortably warm year round, flexes gently with every step, and knocks 18 dB off impact sound. Barefoot in winter, it never gives you cold feet. The patented Uniclic click system locks each joint watertight and exceeds European standards for locking strength, so the floor floats over your subfloor with no glue, no open joints, and no fuss: it is rated for above grade, on grade, and below grade rooms alike.

Why this floor

• Watertight joints: the patented Uniclic click system exceeds European standards, with HDF locking strength above 500 kg per linear metre (ISO 24334).
• Three-layer construction: 3 mm cork wear layer over a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture resistant HDF core with a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork underlayment built in.
• Warm underfoot with a thermal resistance of 0.108 m² K/W, and compatible with hydronic and underfloor radiant heating.
• Low-emission build: in conformity with AgBB, backed by GreenGuard Gold and ECO formaldehyde certificates.
• Permanently elastic surface that is gentle on ankles, with residual indentation of max. 0.15 mm (EN 433).
