Overview

Mocha Cork Flooring

A deep, coffee-toned cork plank from Switzerland, rated for commercial traffic yet warm and quiet enough for a bedroom. Mocha brings a rich, dark roast colour to natural cork. Each 1235 mm x 200 mm (48 5/8 in x 7 7/8 in) plank is built around a 3 mm cork wear surface, so the character you see is genuine cork bark, harvested without felling a single tree: cork oaks live up to 200 years and can be peeled up to 20 times. Underfoot, the difference is immediate. Cork's honeycomb cell structure (roughly 40 million cells per cm³) traps an air-like gas that insulates against cold and cushions every step. The floor stays comfortable year-round, so walking barefoot in winter no longer means cold feet, and its permanent elasticity is gentle on ankles and joints. The 11 mm (7/16 in) plank is a true three-layer construction: 3 mm cork on top, a 6.8 mm E1-grade moisture-resistant HDF core in the middle, and a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing that adds a built-in underlay. The HotCoating surface protection earns this floor commercial class 33 and domestic class 23 ratings, so it keeps its looks for years, not seasons. Planks lock together with the patented Uniclic click system and a watertight joint, floating over the subfloor with no glue or nails. It is approved above, on, and below grade, which makes Mocha a strong pick for basements, condos, and busy main floors alike.

  • E1-grade moisture-resistant HDF core with 24-hour swelling below 8% (EN 317), approved for above, on, and below grade installation.
  • Compatible with hydronic and underfloor radiant heating.
  • Low emissions in conformity with AgBB, finished with a Natural Shield water-based polyurethane.

Common questions

Can I install this over radiant in-floor heating?
Yes. Mocha is compatible with both hydronic and underfloor radiant heating systems, and its 0.108 m² K/W thermal resistance lets warmth come through while the cork keeps the surface comfortable.
Is it suitable for a basement?
Yes. This floating floor is approved for above grade, on grade, and below grade installation. Its core is E1-grade moisture-resistant HDF with 24-hour swelling under 8%, and the Uniclic joints are watertight.
Will it stand up to pets and heavy foot traffic?
It carries a commercial class 33 rating with AC5 abrasion resistance and HotCoating surface protection, is suitable for type W castor chairs, and shows very good resistance to chemicals, so busy households and even commercial spaces are within its rating. Residual indentation is limited to 0.15 mm.
How is it installed?
It floats over the subfloor using the patented Uniclic click-lock system: no glue or nails. Use a taping block during installation for a precise, damage-free lock. Plan for about 10% overage when ordering; each carton of 6 planks covers 1.48 m² (15.94 sq ft).
