Genuine leather underfoot in a deep black buffalo finish, built on a Swiss-made click plank that installs like a floating floor. Black Buffalo brings the look and feel of real leather to your floor. The surface is 100% natural, chrome-free bonded leather in a rich black tone, responsibly sourced from European tannery off-cuts, so no animal is harmed for the flooring itself and less material goes to waste. The result is a floor that reads as luxury the moment you walk into the room. Each 915 mm x 305 mm (36 in x 12 in) plank is 10.5 mm (13/32 in) thick and made in Switzerland to strict manufacturing standards. The leather wear surface sits over a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture-resistant HDF core, with a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing underneath. That cork layer is why the floor feels warm and quiet: it cushions each step, eases joint strain and cuts impact sound transmission by 17 dB. Despite the plush surface, this is a working floor. A hot-coating finish makes it scratch and chemical resistant, and it carries a commercial class 32 durability rating alongside residential class 23, so it is at home in boutique retail, hotel lobbies and busy family rooms alike. The Uniclic click-lock profile means planks simply click together and float over the subfloor: no glue, no nails, no long wait before you can walk on it.

Can I install this over in-floor heating?
Yes. Black Buffalo is compatible with electric, hydronic and other underfloor heating systems, and its low thermal resistance of 0.088 m² K/W lets the heat come through to the room.
Will it work in my basement?
Yes. The floor is approved for below grade, on grade and above grade installation, and the core is a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture-resistant HDF with thickness swelling under 8% in the 24 hour test (EN 317).
How does it hold up to pets and heavy traffic?
Very well. It carries a commercial class 32 rating, AC4 abrasion behaviour and a hot-coated scratch and chemical resistant finish, and it is rated Type W suitable for office chair casters. Furniture leg shift testing shows no visible damage.
How is it installed?
It is a floating floor with a Uniclic click-lock profile: planks click together over the subfloor with no glue or nails, on floors or even walls. Order 10% extra to cover cuts and waste.
