Golden Beach Cork Glue-Down Flooring

The classic Mid-Century Modern cork pattern, in a 6mm (1/4") solid tile you can sand and refinish like hardwood.

If you have ever admired the floors in a Mid-Century Modern home, chances are you were looking at this pattern. Golden Beach is the natural cork look most often found in MCM interiors, which makes it the go-to choice for renovating a period home or bringing a touch of modernism into a new one.

Each 610mm x 305mm (24" x 12") tile is solid natural cork through its full 6mm (1/4") thickness: cork top layer, cork core, and cork backing, made in Portugal. Because the pattern runs through the tile rather than sitting on a thin surface veneer, the floor can be fully sanded and refinished, not just refurbished. Want a different look years from now? A high-end flooring professional can sand off the finish and apply a new colour, or take it up to a high gloss, the same way hardwood is renewed. That is extremely uncommon in today's cork world.

Underfoot, the tile is warm, resilient, and quiet. Cork keeps noise from travelling down through the floor or up through the ceiling, holds heat in the room in winter and keeps it out in summer, and gives a low-slip, forgiving surface that is easy on joints: a genuine comfort upgrade for seniors, children, or anyone with arthritis or joint pain.

Important product note

Many cork patterns exist only on the surface: a thin decorative veneer over a core that cannot survive sanding. Golden Beach is different. In its 6mm and 8mm thicknesses the pattern runs through a tile thick, dense, and resilient enough for complete sanding and refinishing, which makes it the most straightforward cork product to refinish available today.
