Hazel Cork Glue-Down Flooring

Swiss-made 6 mm cork tile with the warm, nut-brown character its name promises: quiet, resilient, and rated for commercial traffic.

Hazel is a traditional glue-down cork tile in a 600 x 300 mm (23 5/8 x 11 13/16 in) format, milled to 6 mm (1/4 in) thick. A natural cork veneer of 0.7 mm to 0.8 mm sits over a solid cork body, so the warm hazel tones you see are real cork grain, not a printed image. A HotCoating wear layer with a high resistance matte finish keeps the surface looking natural while standing up to daily use.

Because the tile is glued directly to the subfloor, the whole 6 mm of cork works underfoot. That is what gives a glue-down cork floor its signature feel: warm in winter, comfortable to stand on for long stretches, and gentle on knees, hips, and joints. The low slip, resilient surface suits seniors, children, and anyone dealing with arthritis or joint pain.

Cork's closed cell structure also makes this a naturally quiet floor. Hazel cuts impact sound by 18 dB, keeping noise from travelling down through the floor or up through the ceiling below. The same cells resist heat transfer (thermal resistance of 0.080 m² K/W), helping the room hold its warmth in winter and stay cooler in summer.

With a domestic class 23 and commercial class 32 rating, Hazel is at home in living rooms, kitchens, offices, and retail spaces alike. Square edges and a straight cut give a clean, near-seamless surface once the tiles are laid, and the format works on walls as well as floors.

Important product note

As this is a glue-down product, polyurethane is required after installation: plan for two coats of Loba 2K polyurethane over the finished floor, along with Wakol D3540 cork adhesive for the install itself. Allow the recommended 5% overage when ordering.
