Midnight Slate Techslate Stone-Look Flooring

The look of dark slate with none of the cold, none of the grout, and none of the cracking: a Swiss-made mineral floor that clicks together and stands up to fire, water, and heavy commercial traffic. Midnight Slate delivers a deep, dark slate visual through direct, lightfast digital printing on a 920 x 460 mm (36 7/32 x 18 7/64 in) plank. The micro-bevelled edges frame each plank the way natural stone joints would, without the weight, the mortar, or the installer's bill that comes with real slate or ceramic tile. Under the surface, this is a mineral floor built in Switzerland around a cement fibreboard carrier plate. A KORUS wear coating takes the abuse on top, a highly viscoelastic intermediate layer softens every step, and a GREEN Sound impact underlay is already bonded to the back. The result feels warmer and quieter underfoot than tile, while measuring an impact sound improvement of approximately 19 dB. Because the core is mineral rather than wood, the floor is 100% water resistant and completely fireproof (rated A2fl-s1). Dimensional stability is so high that you can run up to 1,000 square metres without an expansion or separation joint: no transition strips breaking up a large open plan, no gaps at doorways. At 7.5 mm (19/64 in) thick with a Uniclic click-lock profile, it floats over the subfloor on any grade of the home, from the basement to the second storey, and it is rated Class 33 for commercial spaces such as hotels, restaurants, schools, offices, and retail shops.

Why this floor

• 100% water resistant with 0% thickness swelling after 24 hours of exposure (EN 317): safe below grade and in wet-prone rooms.

• Lightfastness above 7 on the 8-point ISO 105 scale: the Midnight Slate colour will not fade in sun-drenched rooms.
