Salami Cork Flooring
The beloved chunky cork look, refined in clean gold oak tones: a 12 mm floating plank that is striking to look at and easy to live with. Salami takes the classic chunky cork pattern that has drawn so many people to cork and reinvents it. The strong dark patterning is gone, and the old peach hue has been replaced by warm, clean gold oak tones. The result is a floor with real visual texture that still reads calm and inviting in a room. Each 900 mm x 300 mm (35 7/16 in x 11 13/16 in) plank is a full 12 mm (1/2 in) thick: a 3 mm natural cork top layer over a 6 mm E1 class high density fiberboard core, with a 3 mm cork underlay already attached. That triple-layer build is what gives the floor its quiet, cushioned feel underfoot, and the high resistance water-based polyurethane wear layer keeps the surface stain resistant and easy to clean. Planks click together with the industry-leading Uniclic profile, so the floor floats over the subfloor with no glue and no nails. It is rated for above grade, on grade, and below grade installs, which means bedrooms, living rooms, and finished basements are all fair game. The pattern has proven so popular that it is also produced as 6 mm and 8 mm glue-down cork tiles. Cork's natural cell structure insulates against both sound and temperature swings: it keeps noise from transmitting down through the floor or up through the ceiling, holds heat in the room in winter, and keeps unwanted heat out in summer. The resilient, low slip surface is a favourite for seniors, children, and anyone with arthritis or joint pain, and the hypo-allergenic surface repels dust, hair, and other small particles, making it a healthier alternative to carpet.Why this floor

Easy enough if you’ve every installed a laminate floor. Bought one of those laminate installations kits form Home Depot. Looks great once it’s done. I haven’t decided if I’m going to coat it with poly as they recommend.
