Bleached Birch Cork Glue-Down Flooring
A creamy, white-washed birch look in an 8 mm all-cork glue-down tile: the floor that lets you carry one colour through the whole house, bathrooms included. Bleached Birch is a creamy tan off-white cork in the ribbon pattern made famous by Silver Birch. The colour reads as a white-washed plank rather than a flat grey or white: think of it as a warm, lived-in "dirty white" that hides everyday dust and softens a room instead of washing it out. Construction is simple and honest: an 8 mm stained cork wear surface over a cork core with a cork backing, sealed in a high resistance super-matte wax finish. Each tile measures 610 mm x 305 mm (24 in x 12 in) and glues straight to your subfloor with a square, straight-cut edge and no bevel, so the finished floor reads as one continuous surface. Because this is an exact colour match to the 12 mm Bleached Birch floating floor, you can run the floating format through living areas and switch to this glue-down tile in wet rooms without changing colour or pattern. That same-floor-everywhere look is usually the preserve of high-end renovations; here it just takes a little planning. Underfoot, it does what cork does best: warm, quiet, and resilient. Put in a master bath, the instructions said “a glue down cork tile floor always requires site finishing”. We applied two coats of poly. The instructions said “Let cure 5 days”, but it dried out very fast. We can walk on the cork after 8 hours without shoes. We love it.
