Wood Rigato is built around a bold geometric idea: a rhombus panel with 236 mm (9 19/64 in) sides and diagonals of 410 mm x 235 mm (16 9/64 in x 9 1/4 in). Laid across a wall or ceiling, the repeating diamonds catch light at different angles and give the surface real depth, not a printed imitation of it.

Each panel is a three-layer sandwich, 11 mm (7/16 in) thick in total: a 6 mm natural cork face, a 3 mm MDF core that complies with the California Air Resources Board CARB Phase 2 standard, and a 2 mm anti-vibration cork backing. The result is a panel that is rigid enough to hang cleanly and soft enough to do serious acoustic work.

That acoustic work is the point. The 3D relief scatters sound instead of bouncing it straight back, while the cork layers absorb impact noise with a Delta IIC improvement of up to 66 dB. Cork is also a natural thermal insulator, so the wall feels warm to the touch rather than cold and hard.
